Racial/Ethnic Minorities

Rockville Institute affiliates have studied racial/ethnic differences in delinquency and criminality, substance use, child abuse and neglect, and socioeconomic outcomes. The group includes founding (and continuing) members of the Race Matters Consortium, which focuses on the disproportionate representation of racial/ethnic minorities in the child welfare system.

For more information about the Consortium, including how it was founded, how it works, and presentations it has given, check this site, as well as the main Race Matters Consortium site.

Their collective expertise goes well beyond the simple description of racial/ethnic differences, as they also study how decisions at multiple points in the case-flow process contribute to an end-result of disproportional representation.
